Our story began in March of 2019 at a church retreat in Aptos, Ca. We were both 16 years old. After an intense hour of Adoration, Magdalene felt the urge to go up to Matthew and say "I don't know why, but I feel really called to sit next to you." Matthew smiled and said "okay :)" and we sat in silence together for a while. Later that night, Magdalene turned to her sister Judith and said, "I'm gonna marry him."

The next day, we sat next to each other for lunch. Matthew found out that Magdalene was vegan (which he thought was very weird) and she found out he had opinions that were different from hers (oh yeah this would never work).

Fast forward to October of 2022, about three and a half years after we first met, we bumped into each other at the quince of a mutual cousin (weird, but we aren't related... we've triple checked). Matthew originally wasn't going to attend, but his dad insisted he come to check out the cute girls (a.k.a. Magdalene). It had been a while since Magdalene had seen Matthew. She didn't realize how much he had grown into himself... "He's ripped and that beard is doing it for me," she thought. Matthew took the initiative of going up to Magdalene and asking for her number. He took her on many dates and we began to fall in love. Magdalene loved Matthew’s outlook on life, his contagious joy, and how he treated everyone around him with love and respect. Matthew loved Magdalene’s laugh, her beautiful face, kind heart, and her sense of dignity. It was a match made in Heaven. We grew in deep friendship with one another. Everyone around us quickly realized that we were joined at the hip and we knew we would want to spend every waking moment together for the rest of our lives.

Matthew proposed to Magdalene on May 19th, 2024. Since then, we have been patiently waiting for the day we say “I do,” to start our lives together. We invite you on May 9th, 2025 to join us for the next chapter of our story.
